When my town hit's , I am amazed out how many buildings it takes. OR does this mod downsized the population and increase the resources needed? Additionally I heard it conflicts with the Rico Ploppable Mod Is this still the case? Do you recommend this mod or does it conflict with too many mods? Avanya Asset creator Community Ambassador.
Dec 8, 2. Did you read the mod's description? It explains the changes made to high and low density. I use this mod and like it. I have tweaked the numbers for high density residential as it didn't have enough households for my taste, but I really like the changes to low density. It doesn't conflict with any of the other 95 mods I use, so I wouldn't say it conflicts with many mods.
As far as I know it only conflicts with the mods listed in its description as "Incompatible", which is just a case of picking the population changing mod that best fits what you want. Mazisky First Lieutenant 13 Badges. Feb 26, It decrease a lot the population in the first part of the game, when you build low density houses. This means that in the first part of the game you have very few people despite having large suburbs. However, as soon as you build high density buildings, the population are a lot greater than the base game, so a single high density area brings in thousand of people.
Also, industry, commercial and office need a lot more people to work in, this means that you will build a lot less of those areas. The resources are also ajusted, garbage needs are lower at start, same for water and electricity. Overall is a lot more realistic, but it makes the game easier early and harder late. Avanya said:. Click to expand I figured it was probably that one you were talking about. Since low density residential is changed to have just one household in most cases, cities grow slower to start with.
So if you have mostly low density in your city, I can totally understand why it feels like much work to get there. High density will make it grow much faster though since those have more people in them now. The XML file mentioned in the description is what controls these changes and where you can adjust the numbers if you'd like. The numbers are all a "per area" number that is multiplied depending on the size of a building.
So larger buildings fit more people. They are specific to each type of zone, so you could adjust for example just offices if you want to I've done it for high density residential , or you could adjust everything if you want to. The unmodded game doesn't let you do this and neither does Realistic Population and Consumption. It is set for each building and the game needs to be restarted for the changes to take effect. And like mentioned Realistic Population will overwrite those numbers if you use both mods.
Some games will require you to relaunch them before the item will be downloaded. No longer being updated Please use Realistic Population Revisited. Popular Discussions View All Itemfinder 31 May am. Try the updated version linked at the top of the description :. Rusten Skurk 24 May am. This mod works fine for me and I like the idea of it.
However I find that the population requirements to unlock high density zones are too high. It's such a slog to get to that point, when all you can make is one household homes. To get to the high density zones you need to basically fill the map with low density residential, and I find there's only so much interesting stuff you can do with that.
I'll make cozy little town centres surrounded with suburbs and satelite towns and villages, but I have to just keep spamming that, and I'm getting really tired of thinking of new things to do with low density. Ilion 11 Apr pm. First, you need to remove the "local" Ploppable Rico definition for the building.
Reloading the city may restore the building. If not, I'd either delete it with the standard bulldozer and replop it, which will cost money, OR use the MoveIt mod to delete it and then Ctl-Z to have MoveIt undo the delete Out of curiosity, is there a way to undo the changes this mod did to one specific building?
I was playing around with it Plopable RICO Revisited and somehow made my Campus Dormitory a residential building, and it is sort of throwing off my University Campus calculation for its progress. Whitefang Greytail [author] 15 Dec, am. I have a question. As I install this mod, There are problems.
First, Higher unemployment, As even I start new city. Second, Commuting problem. It's related first problem. Even though I start newly and set the transportation line, People can't go to work.
In this situation, How can I fix? Ilion 30 Jun, am. CraziFuzzy, You could modify the settings in the config file to get some "medium density" small apartments. You could modify these values to get more households. Share to your Steam activity feed.
