So, we've seen how to download files and photos from Google Drive to your computer and to your iPhone. However, you may find that in the process of transferring files from place to place or saving files from different devices; that you will accumulate duplicates of some of your files.
Not only are duplicate files annoying and messy, but they take up valuable space in your Google Drive. Since you only get 15GB free space with Google Drive, duplicates can eat away at this allowance and may eventually cause you to consider upgrading to gain more space even though you may not need to. There's a simple remedy for this issue - Duplicate Sweeper. Duplicate Sweeper is a handy tool for your Windows PC or Mac which scans your folders and deletes duplicate files based on your preferences.
It can save you hours or even days of looking through folders and files to discover if files are duplicated and considering which ones to move. Duplicate Sweeper can quickly scan multiple folder or drives to return your duplicates. Simply select whether to keep the newest or the oldest of each duplicate to remove them automatically, or manually select which to remove. Should this fail as well, temporarily disable your antivirus. Select multiple files by clicking and dragging your cursor over the files you want to download.
Note: In Step 2, you can select non-adjacent files by holding Ctrl and clicking on the files you want to download. To download a folder from your Google Drive without zipping, you will need to install Backup and Sync. However, this app offers many other features that enable you to use your Google Drive storage on your computer. On top of that, you can access your Google Drive folder just like a regular folder in your Windows Explorer. This can be more convenient as you keep all your files in one place.
There are also tools for downloading a folder from Google Drive without zipping within the browser. But if you want to preserve your Google account credentials, you should stay away from these tools and use one of the methods described in this article. People with regular accounts have to use the Backup and Sync app while business owners can download Drive File Stream. The Google Drive app for PC does not let you view the files in its interface.

List view typically lets you view more files on the screen at once, so it likely to be the most convenient way to view files for this purpose. You can click on a file and hold down your mouse button, then drag the mouse to select files either directly above or directly below the selected file. Alternatively you can click on a file, press Shift on your keyboard and hold it down, then click on another file. This will select all of the files between the first file you clicked and the last file you clicked.
Both of these other options are more situational, but can be helpful to quickly select a lot of files that are right next to one another. Tap and hold on the first file you wish to select, which will place a blue check mark next to it.
